The 2016 NASCAR Sprint cup series points was Jeff Gordon's last time racing full time. Jeff Gordon has just completed his final year in NASCAR he said he will still race part time to fill in for someone but he will not be running full time. He drove the Chevrolet NASCAR for Rick Hendrick he is the most successful cup team owner ever in the sport. Jeff raced for Rick for 23 straight seasons and had an amazing career. Jeff has won 4 championships with Rick his first one was in 1995. The other three he won was in 1997, 1998, and 2001. Jeff finished second in the points this year with a chance to win it for the last time. He lost this years championship by 4 points. Now that Jeff has retired he now owns a NASCAR team himself and the driver of that is Jimmie Johnson which has won 6 championships and no desire to back down. Jeff was one of the oldest drivers to be racing in the cup series competitively there was only one person older than him and that was Mark Martin at age 56 Mark retired. Jeff is 44 and he has now just retired.

This next NASCAR driver I am talking about is the best NASCAR driver ever and this is Dale Earnhardt Senior. Dale is the best NASCAR driver to ever go through the NASCAR series. Dale is my second favorite driver ever right after Matt Kenseth. Dale started his career in 1975 when the Winston Cup series was still in progress. As of 2002 the Winston Cup series was changes to sprint cup series. Dale one his first Daytona 500 in 1998. He also one 7 Winston Cup series championships. He is tied for winning the most championships ever with the king of NASCAR Richard Petty. Dale was known as The Intimidator because of his aggressive driving style. Dale died at age 49. He died doing the one thing he loved to do was in a race car. Dale died in 2001 in the 2001 Daytona 500, he wrecked and had a major skull fracture. All of the medical officials say he died on impact but everyone knows that he sat there a minute before he died from a brain bleed.

This first blog is over my favorite NASCAR driver in the sport. The driver is Matt Kenseth he won the rookie of the year award in 2000. He also won his first Winston Cup points in 2003 what he was still a rookie at least that is what NASCAR considered him. Back then he raced against the best drivers ever in NASCAR. In 2009 he won his first ever Daytona 500 which is the biggest race in NASCAR. It was one of the very few Daytona 500 races that actually was rain-shortened do to whether. Then Matt Kenseth came back and won another Daytona 500 in 2012. He became one of the few NASCAR drivers that has ever won a Daytona 500 let alone 2 Daytona 500's. Matt had a son in 1993 that is now in the NASCAR series. He is starting out in the Infinity series which is the slowest and easiest to race in. That is Matt Kenseth's biography over the years that he raced.
